The mission of United Way is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Our product is Community Impact. Community Impact is defined as improving lives by mobilizing communities to create lasting changes in community conditions.

United Ways bring communities together to focus on the most important needs in the community -- building partnerships, forging consensus and leveraging resources to make a measurable difference.

Every day, United Way supported programs help provide a nurturing environment for children, health care for seniors who might otherwise go without, food and shelter for those facing tough times, safe havens from physical and psychological abuse, therapy for those coping with special challenges and so much more. Every day United Way programs are doing what matters.

Every day our court system sees citizens with huge needs.  Often these citizens are not aware of services available to them.  United Way’s role as the leading community solutions provider is invaluable to our office.  Through the Inter-Agency Meetings hosted monthly by United Way, we are able to network with agencies and are educated about services available right here in Roane County.  We are then able to take practical steps toward referring these services to the citizens who need them most.   United Way empowers agencies in Roane County to grow stronger and maximizes the impact of services available to the citizens in our community.

Roane County Schools

The Roane County United Way works for the people of Roane County. They have direct impact on the lives of the children through their support of school programs, special requests, and the financial support of the Pre-K program. Children are the future and United Way impacts the future through their support of schools and children.
